Sol Bungalows is a boutique overwater bungalow Bed and Breakfast located on the Sunset Coast of Isla Solarte in Bocas del Toro, Panama. We are the #1 rated overwater bungalow hotel in Panama!
Our entire property is off-grid, being powered by the sun with solar energy and all of our water is harvested from the rain. Our mission is to be sustainable and beneficial to our environment and our small island community of Solarte Uno, where our local staff come from. We have a tropical permaculture farm that supplies our restaurant for breakfast and dinners, and we source as much as we can from our local neighbors like organic eggs and traditional coconut bread.
We specialize in providing our guests with bespoke experiences tailored to their interests and desires. Our small size with only 4 overwater bungalows lets us provide each guest with personal attention and guidance, ensuring a smooth and worry-free trip to Bocas del Toro. We will recommend and reserve all tours and activities so all you have to do is tell us what you want to do each day and we will take care of the rest!

Cancellation, Returned Deposit & Non-Arrival Conditions
Guests who need to cancel a booking should contact us as soon as possible. Deposits already paid are only returned in accordance with the following conditions;- Cancellation made 45 days or more in advance of arrival date = Full refund for the total amount we received after fees on the original payment.
- Cancellation made 44 days or less of arrival date = No refund issued
Fee Refund Policy
Our standard payment processor is PayPal, which charges a 3.5% fee on all transactions to us from our guests. This fee is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. This fee amount goes directly to PayPal and we are unable to refund it as per their policies.Terms of Booking and Booking Deposit
By placing a booking with us (Sol Bungalows) you (the lead guest) and your booking party (guests) agree to the following terms and conditions as set-out. During your stay you agree to abide by the subsequent conditions as set-out. If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a booking.Booking Process
- To place a booking with us the lead guest must be at least 18 years of age.
- The standard rate for each bungalow includes 2 guests. Additional guests will incur a charge of $33, per adult/ child, per night.
- Where the person making the booking is different to the lead guest taking up the occupation, the person making the booking may be held responsible for cancellation, non-arrival and damages as set-out within.
- Only the lead guest and the named booking party are allowed to use the property and its facilities, any third-party visitors are only allowed access at our express permission.
Booking Payments
- 100% of the booking price must be paid up front to secure the reservation.
- Payments can be made via PayPal.
Children and Extra Guests
- We have an age limit of 12 years or older for guests/ children.
- Bungalows #2, #3, and #4 have a maximum occupancy of 2 guests, but bungalow #1 (Papaya) can sleep 4 guests.
- Extra guests are $33 per guest, per night.
Respecting All Guests
All guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of all other staying guests, neighbors and owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honoring this agreement or causing a disturbance/nuisance to other guests, neighbors or the owners.Check-in & Check-out

WiFi Fair & Appropriate Usage Policy
Where WiFi Internet access is provided, guests accept to use this access to the Internet fairly and appropriately. We may monitor network performance and user usage in order to maintain a fair and high level of service to all our guests.The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, light video / music / media streaming. It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads / uploads. Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.Damages & Lost Property
We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damages caused during a stay by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings, or any other damages to Sol Bungalows property. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible in order to minimise damage and associated costs. Any lost property, if discovered and found, left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belonging before checking-out. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.Prices to be paid by lead guest for the necessary replacement of hotel property:- Lost keys: $20

Smoking
Smoking of any tobacco products including, but not limited to cigarettes, pipes, e-cigarettes, e-liquids, cigars, snuff or chewing tobacco, is only allowed in designated areas as sign posted throughout the accommodation grounds.There is absolutely 0 smoking of any kind allowed inside of the bungalows. Smoking on the deck outside of the bungalows is permitted.Pets & Service Dogs
